Okla. Association to Hold Annual Convention in October

The Oklahoma Public Fleet Management Association (OPFMA) will hold its annual convention Oct. 10-11 in Tulsa. OPFMA is partnering with Public Fleet Summits (PFS), which will provide speakers for this event.

The Oklahoma Public Fleet Management Association (OPFMA) will hold its annual convention Oct. 10-11 in Tulsa. OPFMA is partnering with Public Fleet Summits (PFS), which will provide notable fleet leader to speak at this event.

The goal of the conference is for fleet practitioners to come together, share best practices, and collaborate on ideas. The convention will include participant discussions, a vendor showcase, presentations from national fleet leaders, and a tour of Tulsa Transit’s fleet maintenance facilities.

Presenters include: Dave Seavey, CAFM, former fleet management director for the City of Seattle, who will talk about metrics that move fleet performance and how to decrease vehicle downtime; John Hunt, CPFP, fleet manager for the City of Portland, Ore., who will speak about calculating fleet rates, establishing vehicle life cycles, performance measures, and how to benchmark and rightsizing your fleet; and Sam Lamerato, CPFP, former fleet maintenance superintendent for the City of Troy, Mich., who will discuss  parts management best practices, physical inventory and performance measures, and how to determine correct staffing levels.

Additionally, leaders of the Oklahoma Clean Cities Coalition will speak about the benefits of alternative fuels, how to obtain grant funding for vehicles and infrastructure, how to calculate emissions reductions, and how the coalition can benefit your organization.         

A one-day technician training will occur Oct. 10. Training will cover topics such as proper tire maintenance, engine diagnostics, heavy truck preventive maintenance and diagnostics, and Ford maintenance and diagnostics.
