Highland County Job and Family Services (JFS) in Ohio is saving $17,000 per year by leasing a fleet of vehicles instead of reimbursing employees for every trip, reported the Times-Gazette.

County commissioners voted to lease 12 vehicles after JFS reported rising mileage reimbursement costs. The division paid employees $73,000 in mileage reimbursements in 2017 and has exceeded that amount for 2018.

The fleet will be ready for use later this month and consists of 10 Nissan Sentras and two Chrysler minivans. The vehicles will be equipped with GPS.
