Ohio County Opens Truck Wash

The Trumbull County Engineer’s Office in Ohio has unveiled a new truck wash that is expected to save the county money and offer further savings to other government and school district fleets in the area. The project cost $2.1 million, which includes $500,000 loan from a local government innovation fund, according to WKBN.
Trumbull County Engineer Randy Smith told WKBN that, with an in-house wash system, the county can wash its expensive plow trucks more often, extending the life of the vehicle and associated components.
The truck wash is also open to neighboring government entities and school districts in the county. A wash is expected to cost neighboring agencies from $16 to $18 per vehicle, versus the $25 to $30 price tag for a wash at a vehicle wash vendor.
