Ohio City Equips Snowplows With GPS Tech
Interactive GPS units onboard the city of Youngstown’s snowplows will help supervisors in the street department keep track of where the vehicles are deployed.

The city of Youngstown, Ohio, has added GPS tracking technology to all its snowplows.
The vehicles equipped with interactive GPS units will allow supervisors in the city's street department to know where the vehicles are deployed, and when different routes have been treated, and how many more areas need to be covered.
Since 2018, Youngstown has been able to acquire eight new snowplows and has invested over $3 million in equipment for the street department. According to Kevin Flynn, the city's commissioner of building and grounds, Youngstown hopes to roll out GPS tracking technology on all its vehicles and equipment in the near future.
