The City of Pittsburgh's mayor-elect is pushing ahead with an initiative to equip municipal snowplows with global positioning vehicle trackers and publish the locations online.
Bill Peduto, who will take office on Jan. 6, will move the plan forward in early 2014, his chief advisor told the Tribune.
City snowplows and street sweepers will be equipped with GPS devices so the city can track their locations in real time. The information will then be posted online so residents can see when the vehicles will arrive in front of their homes.
