The Elizabeth, New Jersey, Police Department demonstrated public safety applications for the new Matrice 30 drone by DJI Enterprises, ahead of its launch. According to a press release from the company, the department operates one of the United States' most advanced public safety drone programs, making it uniquely qualified to showcase the benefits of drone use.
The police department uses drones to document crimes and crashes, provide an aerial perspective on routine calls and major crimes, and keep officers safe by sending drones instead of people close to dangerous events.
Built for public safety and workers in other industries who are exposed to harsh conditions, the DJI M30 is a portable drone capable of fitting in a backpack and deploying in under a minute. The M30 comes in two different versions, the M30 and the M30T (thermal), with both integrating multiple high-performance sensors into a single camera payload.
Along with the M30, DJI launched the new FlightHub 2 fleet management cloud-based software that enables flight mission management and operational viewing from the pilot's device and any device with a web browser. Now, everyone involved in a drone operation, from ground teams to nearby supervisors to managers in their offices, can log into the same mission in real time and see the data gathered by the drones and the pilots.
