The Nevada Division of Investigation is conducting a probe into $1 million in tires that were charged to Douglas County, Nev., but never made it to county vehicles.

According to the Record Courier, more than 400 commercial truck tires were purchased between 2016 and 2017 that did not fit any county vehicles. In 2017, the missing tires were reported to county authorities. Authorities turned to the county’s vehicle maintenance director, who would have been responsible for ordering the tires. However, he died in a car collision shortly after the allegations surfaced.

Now, state officials are investigating what happened to the missing supplies.
