N.Y. State to Install GPS in Plows
The New York State Thruway Authority will install enhanced GPS units across its fleet of 235 heavy-duty plows. The purchase will allow for real-time monitoring during plowing operations.

The New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors approved the purchase of enhanced GPS units for its fleet of 235 heavy-duty plows, reported the Daily News. The purchase will allow for real-time monitoring during plowing operations, including route tracking, air and pavement temperature, and de-icing material application rates.
AT&T will handle installation of the GPS system, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
