The City of Bloomington, Minn., is searching for a fleet manager to lead, manage, and direct the fleet maintenance section of the city's public works department.
The position's responsibilities involve planning and budgeting, and overseeing operations and personnel. The city fleet manager regularly contacts internal customers from Bloomington's 10 departments, the city's purchasing agent, and vendors. The city fleet impacts every department and supports all departments' delivery of services to the community. The position will primarily focus on managing the city's fleet program by making equipment management decisions that are based on a long‐term asset management strategy.
Minimum qualifications for the position include an Associate degree or two‐year technical certificate in fleet maintenance and repair, and six years fleet experience, which includes at least two years of management, supervisory, or lead experience. A Bachelor's degree in public or business administration with an emphasis in fleet accounting, operations management, or another related field may replace two years of experience. Candidates must have working knowledge of fleet asset management software systems, fuel systems, telematics software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Starting salary is $83,000 to $93,000 annually for the benefits-eligible position.
