The newest addition to the Milwaukee Fire Department fleet will be used to promote fire safety education. The Mobile Survive Alive House is an RV custom-designed by REV Recreation Group that will serve as an integral part of the Milwaukee Fire Department’s education program to teach young people about the dangers of fire and importance of fire safety.
The unit has two bedroom-style classrooms with smoke evacuation training. Each of these classrooms has a residential window with steps for evacuation training.

A kitchen-style classroom sits in the center of the vehicle with bench seating and two large TVs with camera feeds from the bedrooms. It also includes a Lion training stove that works in tandem with a custom fire extinguisher to demonstrate the proper technique to extinguish a stove fire.
There is also an exterior TV under a power awning that can be used for training videos.
The Mobile Survive Alive Unit features an LED light bar above the cockpit with a PA system and siren. The light bar and PA system were donated by Whelen Engineering.

“The job of firefighting has evolved over the years, [and] educating children on fire safety has become an important part of our community efforts,” stated Lieutenant Michael Ball, community relations director for the Milwaukee Fire Department in a statement. “The Survive Alive House is a key component of how we demonstrate fire safety to children.”
The Mobile Survive Alive House will be taken to schools and appear at events throughout the Milwaukee area.
