Louisville Metro in Kentucky will soon begin construction on a public works facility that will be used to park and maintain vehicles, store salt and brine, and house other operations, the Courier-Journal reported.

Officials say the consolidation of operations would speed up repair and maintenance of vehicles. The project is expected to cost $3.2 million and be ready for use by the end of the year.

Louisville Metro is the consolidated government of the city of Louisville and Jefferson County.
