The Morehead Utility Plant Board in eastern Kentucky has approved its general manager's plan to enter into a partnership with Enterprise Fleet Management to shift the fleet to a leasing funding model, reports The Morehead News.
General Manager Holly McGrath-Rosas had proposed hiring the fleet management company to provide leasing and services, including tracking oil changes and tire rotations. Enterprise will also monitor fuel use for the public utility.
The agency is expected to keep its vehicles for four to five years, then rotate them out for new one.
The utility was established by the City of Morehead in 1950 and now maintains a budget of $10 million and 40 employees. The utility provides gas, water, and sewer services. The utility is part of municipal government but operated separately and governed by a board with five members.
