Kardex Remstar has announced the signing of a contract with the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA). The NJPA is an agency that establishes an alliance between buyers and sellers for use by education, government, and non-profits. Kardex Remstar teamed with Tennsco, a well-established major manufacturer of shelving, cabinets, lockers, and moveable aisle systems to win this contract. This contract offering includes these quality products from Tennsco, combined with automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) from Kardex Remstar.
NJPA’s cooperative contract is available to more than 50,000 member agencies, helping streamline the required purchasing process. As a national contracting agency, NJPA establishes and provides nationally leveraged and competitively solicited purchasing contracts under the guidance of the Uniform Municipal Contracting Law. Joint Powers laws enable members to legally purchase through this storage contract.

Kardex Remstar products covered under this contract include: Lektriever vertical carousels, Megamat RS vertical carousels, Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Modules (VLM), and horizontal carousels. Kardex Remstar dynamic storage systems work on the “goods to person” principle, bringing all of the products directly to the operator with the push of a button. This automated picking process eliminates the need to walk and search for products. It also reduces risk of injury to the employee by removing the bending and reaching for items at a pick location, improving worker safety and ergonomics.
By eliminating walk and search time, the operator can focus solely on picking orders, increasing productivity by up to 2/3. Integrated with pick to light technology and Power Pick Global inventory management software, the operator will be guided to the exact pick location, increasing accuracy up to 99.9%.
Kardex Remstar products take advantage of wasted vertical space, converting it into ideal storage space. This can reduce the overall footprint by up to 85%. The reclaimed floor space can then be repurposed for other value added activities.
The Kardex Remstar NJPA contract number is 040215-KRS.
