Henderson, NC, Will Deny Personal Use of City Vehicles to Save an Estimated $57,000
HENDERSON, NC – Interim Manager Jerry Moss expects to save the City of Henderson more than $57,000 a year by no longer allowing 35 employees to drive their city vehicles to and from work.
HENDERSON, NC – Interim Manager Jerry Moss expects to save the City of Henderson more than $57,000 a year by no longer allowing 35 employees to drive their city vehicles to and from work, according to the Henderson Daily Dispatch newspaper. The new policy will become effective May 1. The workers who will be affected are non-department heads who live outside the city limits. Before going home, affected employees will be required to leave their city vehicles at their workplace or at the operations center. The 35 employees drove a total of more than 117,000 miles a year, according to the report. The cost savings from fuel alone is expected to be more than $26,000.
