MASCOTTE, FL – The City of Kissimmee, Fla., is selling off one of its older garbage trucks to City of Mascotte, which already has one truck and wants another for a backup. The second truck also will help as Mascotte adds thousands of new homes and is forced to expand collection routes for its small sanitation department, according to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper.
Mascotte is buying the 1998 Volvo garbage truck equipped with a large mechanical arm to empty specially designed garbage cans. The cost is about $35,000, and the truck could be ready for delivery by the end of the month.
