GM has temporarily halted sales of the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV due to a reported software issue. News outlets first reported the news about the pause on sales in late December 2023.
An official for GM told CNN that Blazer EV owners are being asked to bring their cars into a dealership for a software update.

A spokesperson for GM shared a statement to Government Fleet explaining the company's decision, saying:
"We are aware that a limited number of Blazer EV owners have experienced some software quality issues. To ensure our customers have a great experience with their vehicle, we are temporarily pausing sales of Blazer EVs. Our team is working quicky to roll out a fix, and owners will be contacted with further information on how to schedule their update. We apologize for the inconvenience."
How Does the Halt Affect Fleets?
When asked how this will affect fleets who have ordered the Blazer EV, a spokesperson could not provide specifics on the potential impact.
However, Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell said in part, "Customer satisfaction is our priority and as such, we will take a brief pause on new deliveries.”
It's unclear when sales of the EV SUV will resume. Order banks for the pursuit-rated version of the Blazer EV opened late last year. The Blazer EV PPV is set to begin being delivered this year.
