DENVER – Monday, June 18 is the first day of the three-day 2012 Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), which will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

GFX is the largest gathering of municipal and county fleet managers in the U.S. and will feature a mix of educational sessions, networking events, and opportunities to discover the latest products for public-sector fleets.

At this year’s event, Bob Stanton, from Hillsborough County BOCC, will present a keynote called TOPGUN Management: 5 Easy Targets to Trigger for Locked on Excellence, which will discuss five skills that can help fleet managers assure success in life and work.

On Tuesday, June 19, the breakfast will feature a keynote address by mountain climber and explorer John Amatt. He will discuss how to set realistic goals and expectations, take calculated risks, learn from setbacks, incorporate the power of teamwork into your daily activities and prevail in the face of what seem like insurmountable obstacles.

Fifteen educational sessions allow fleet managers to take home valuable information to improve their fleets, with topics ranging from ethics to benchmarking to maintenance. Additionally, Government Fleet and the 100 Best Fleets program will announce the 2012 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year and the No. 1 fleet along with the rankings of the top 20 of the 100 Best Fleets program.
