TORRANCE, CA – Government Fleet magazine has extended the nomination deadline for the Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year award to March 15 in part to a great response and to compensate for lost time due to a slight technical difficulty. Government Fleet magazine, along with Automotive Resources International (ARI) and Fleet Counselor Services, Inc., has put together the first ever Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year award. To nominate a fleet manager, please visit www.fleetmanageroftheyear.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on "Nominate Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year." Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year nominees will be required to complete a short questionnaire consisting of 10 categories, each with three questions. The questionnaire is based on fleet certification standards developed by Fleet Counselor Services, Inc. (see pages 22 and 23 in Jan/Feb 2005 GF), and will serve as a prequalification process for an independent panel of fleet professionals appointed by Government Fleet magazine, who will be charged with qualifying and ranking each nominee to determine the Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year. The Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year questionnaire ask three "yes" or "no" questions relating to each of the following fleet management categories:
Business Plan
Computer Systems and Technology
Staffing and Productivity
Policies and Procedures
PM Program
Utilization Management
Replacement Program
