HOT SPRINGS, AR – The Garland County Sheriff's Office has signed a waiver of liability with Ford Motor Co. for the delivery of five Crown Victoria cars, according to the Associated Press. The cars had not been delivered because of an Arkansas attorney general's investigation.

Hot Springs Police Chief Gary Ashcraft stated that the department is going to order six new Crown Victorias and he will also sign the waiver. A spokesman for the attorney general's office said the waivers aren't affecting the investigation.

The investigation, led by Attorney General Mike Beebe, involves advertising claims by Ford in relation to the Crown Victoria Police Interceptors. Ford has embargoed statewide delivery of the cars unless law-enforcement agencies sign the waiver. The attorney general's office has been looking into complaints that some Crow Victorias sold as Police Interceptor models were the civilian version.
