Sales of vehicles from five manufacturers to government agencies increased 5.6% to 20,625 in November and remain solidly positive for 2016, according to Automotive Fleet data.
Trucks, vans and SUVs boosted monthly sales with a 17.3% increase to 17,207 units over November of 2015, while passenger car sales declined 29.8% to 3,418 units.
Year-to-date sales have increased 18% to 260,056 units on the strength of the truck category, which has increased 22.9% to 212,791 for the first 11 months of 2016. Sales of passenger cars is essentially flat with a 0.1% increase to 47,265.
Government fleet sales rose from both January and February monthly totals, which were both under 20,000.
