Sean Williams, CAFM, fleet manager for the Collier County Sheriff's Office, was named Fleet Manager of the Year by the Florida Sheriffs Risk Management Fund (FSRMF). The FSRMF seeks to reduce fatalities and injuries to sheriff's office staff around the state. 

As fleet and procurement manager, Williams is in charge of preparing the agency's annual fleet operating budget, ordering and disposal of vehicles, and supervising the vehicle maintenance and fueling program.

Recent initiatives implemented by Williams include a key track system that allows deputies to have keys available for loaner cars 24/7 as well as the integration of Bluetooth technology to run fingerprints through state and federal databases through an in-car computer. Williams also worked with the IT Department to integrate GPS with in-car laptops, eliminating the need for a sepate GPS unit. In an effort to cut costs, the fleet has outsourced oil changes, parts management, and some upfitting.

In addition to his work inside the shop, Williams serves as president of the Florida Association of Governmental Fleet Administrators (FLAGFA). He is currently pursuing a master's of business administration degree with a concentration in public administration and is working toward becoming a Certified Public Procurement Buyer. He serves as a member on the Ford Police Advisory Committee, Florida Sheriffs Association Advisory Committee, Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, National Institute for Government Procurement, and NAFA Fleet Management Association.

The award was presented to Williams at the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference general membership meeting in Estero.
