A State of Colorado Department of Transportation fleet supervisor and mechanic were fired in May for using a state purchasing card to buy materials to fix up and sell personal vehicles, CBS4 reported.

Fleet Supervisor John Kreitner and mechanic Joshua Jessup purchased vehicle paint in unusual colors on the credit card, then used the fleet facility to paint the vehicles.

State employees had been allowed to use the facility to work on personal vehicles, but the perk ended in January 2015.
