HOUSTON - Pete Scarafiotti, fleet services director for the City of Mesa, Ariz., won the general election for the President-Elect position on the Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association (RMFMA) National Board of Directors. The ballots were tabulated and results announced to the general membership at the recent 2009 RMFMA Power Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to RMFMA.

Scarafiotti (pictured right) has served the RMFMA in several capacities over the years, most recently as chair of the Arizona Chapter and of the National Web site Committee. He is also a graduate of the Certified Automotive Fleet Manager and the Certified Equipment Manager programs, and was also named 2009 Outstanding Fleet Member of the Year at the conference.

"It is an honor to be elected to the position of President-Elect by my fellow fleet professionals," said Scarafiotti. "I look forward to working diligently to support RMFMA's continuing mission of fleet management development and providing a national network for exchanging fleet information, ideas, experiences, and methods."

The position of President-Elect is an elected position in which the winner serves one year learning the governing of the RMFMA. After that year is completed, the individual becomes president of the Association for one year before moving to the Board of Directors for five additional years, with the last year as the chairman of the Board.

The Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association is a non-profit organization for public and private fleets, and their suppliers. RMFMA serves fleets that range in size from less than 25 vehicles to more than 4000 vehicles and pieces of equipment, with chapters in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. Members do not need to live in one of these states to join. For more information, visit www.rmfma.org.
