COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The City of Colorado Springs, Colo., has upgraded to the AssetWorks browser-based version of FleetFocus, and Colorado Springs Mountain Metropolitan Transit Authority (Mountain Metro) is joining the city in using the single database to manage all fleet maintenance operations. The City Fleet Management Division and Mountain Metro can now take advantage of the built-in integration between maintenance, operations and ITS technology offered by AssetWorks and Trapeze Group, according to a release from AssetWorks.

According to Tom Monarco, fleet manager, City of Colorado Springs, the City has been using AssetWorks products for 20 years. "By joining Mountain Metropolitan Transit in the upgrade to the browser-based version of FleetFocus, both the city and the transit can use the same system and view the same data," he said. "Now that we'll be on the same system, we anticipate that it can help improve our efficiency."

This integrated AssetWorks and Trapeze solution can help the City of Colorado Springs and Mountain Metro by improving vehicle availability, streamlining service requests and incident reporting, and consolidating IT resources, according to the release.

AssetWorks software is configured to track the 4,700 vehicle units maintained by the city and the nearly 200 revenue and non-revenue vehicles maintained by Mountain Metropolitan Transit, as well as the many bus stops throughout the city. FleetFocus fleet management software tracks all activities related to the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of these vehicles on a single database including work order processing, flexible preventive maintenance scheduling, warranty tracking, and detailed reporting. The system can also improve customer communication through a secure customer access portal or through automated email notifications related to vehicle service and availability.
