CASTLE ROCK, CO – Castle Rock Public Works Director Bob Goebel announced June 15 that his department wants the town to develop a policy that would mandate replacement of Castle Rock’s petroleum-powered vehicles with flex-fuel, hybrid, and bio-diesel powered cars and trucks, according to the Web site denver.yourhub.com.
Goebel’s memorandum to Town Manager Mark Stevens said that Fleet Manager Todd Richardson is developing a five-year “Green Fleet” policy. The motivation behind the initiative, said Goebel, is to “get us to a fleet that has a lower operating cost, [is] more fuel efficient, and [is] better for the environment.”
