BUCKEYE, AZ - Michael DePaulo, fleet maintenance supervisor for the Town of Buckeye, has received the American Public Works Association (APWA) Arizona Chapter Award of Merit.

The intent of the Award of Merit is to recognize the dedicated service of public works or related agency personnel at the Operational Levelwho perform their responsibilities in an exceptionally efficient and courteous manner.

DePaulo was nominated by Scott Lowe, Public Works director for the Town of Buckeye. He was also highly recommended for the award by Mark Mann, chief of police; Bob Costello, fire chief; and Damon Dequenne, Water Resources director. All noted his achievements in successfully managing fleet despite a significant reduction in staff over the past year.

"Mike is the epitome of quality customer service, professionalism, and efficiency," according to Lowe.

"[His] job is simply to ensure the Town's fleet is well-maintained. He does so much more! Buckeye has a fleet of more than 250 vehicles and equipment and Mike has done a tremendous job of keeping that large fleet in the best of condition," Lowe said.

DePaulo has worked for the Town of Buckeye Public Works Department since August 2006 after a successful career with Maricopa County Department of Transportation. He has more than 15 years of dedicated Public Works experience.
