WILLITS, CA – Instead of purchasing a new city vehicle, The City of Willits has just bought a bicycle for Community Development Director Alan Falleri, according to The Willits News. “I think it is important for us in city leadership roles to be models for our citizens and to demonstrate a commitment to the ideals we often talk about such as energy conservation and traffic reduction measures,” said Falleri, according to the report. Besides setting an example, Falleri said that riding a bike would provide him a realistic perspective on how best to incorporate bike use, bike trails, and bike lanes into city plans.
