TORRANCE, CA – The fleet industry is invited to attend the 2007 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year Award Ceremony to be held in Houston, May 6, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room 339AB at the Hilton Americas. The award ceremony is open to all. The award ceremony is co-located with the NAFA FMI-LEG conference.
This year’s finalists are:
Bob Stanton, fleet manager, Polk County, Fla.
Windell Mitchell, fleet manager, King County, Wash.
John Clements, manager, fleet operations, County of San Diego, Calif.
Speeches by past winners John Hunt (2005) and John McCorkhill (2006) will be given at the event.
A panel of 17 judges, all of whom are public sector fleet managers, ranked the nominees in nine areas of fleet management. The nine fleet management categories were:
Business plan development.
Computer systems and technology utilization.
Productivity initiatives.
Policies and procedures development and implementation.
Preventive maintenance programs.
Utilization management.
Vehicle acquisition and replacement programs.
Customer service and downtime initiatives.
Fuel management program.
