The Queen Creek Town Council approved the renewal of an Intergovernmental
Agreement (IGA) with the Town of Gilbert for fire support services on Aug. 5.
The renewal of a $30,000 intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Town of Gilbert for fire support services was unanimously approved Aug. 5 by Queen Creek Town Council, according to this meeting agenda. The Town of Queen Creek currently does not have the resources to provide specialized services in house, so they are required to contract.
Queen Creek Fire and Medical has a cooperative purchase agreement with Hughes Fire Equipment to provide primary maintenance and repairs to the town's fire fleet. To fulfill the fleet's service needs, staff requested the renewal of the IGA with the Town of Gilbert to be approved. Essential services include apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, as well as other fire apparatus repairs on an as-needed basis. Queen Creek also has an IGA with the City of Mesa Fire and Medical Fleet Services to provide after-hours and roadside assistance on an as-needed basis.
The proposed IGA would run through June 30, 2021. The cooperative purchase agreement with Hughes Fire Equipment through the City of Phoenix has contract renewals through January 2023. The IGA with the City of Mesa will be for a two-year term beginning January 15, 2020, to January 15, 2022.
