FITCHBURG, MA — Amtrak (National Railroad Passenger Corp.) selected RoadBASE, by Chevin Fleet Solutions, to automate and streamline its maintenance control center process. In an effort to improve vehicle performance and asset use while enhancing maintenance management of its diverse engineering fleet, Amtrak is establishing a maintenance control center to schedule and manage internal and external fleet repairs and preventive maintenance. Through a central call center, Amtrak will use Chevin’s RoadBASE to coordinate and authorize vehicle and component repairs.
Arizona Department of Public Safety chose Chevin’s Web-based system, FleetWave to manage the maintenance and operations of its fleet of 2,000 units. The Arizona DPS maintains a diverse fleet through its central and satellite maintenance facilities located around the state.
FleetWave was able to meet all of DPS’s diverse requirements and replaced a COBOL-based fleet system which was inflexible, not fully integrated, and was unable to be customized or scaled to meet the evolving business needs of the department.
As FleetWave has user definable capabilities, all of DPS’s specific requirements can be met, without the need for development. With its Web-based architecture, FleetWave can be deployed to remote shops around the state and can be accessed by casual DPS users through Internet Explorer anytime and anywhere. Using FleetWave’s driver portal, operator’s personal mileage can be individually entered as necessary and automatically consolidated on a monthly basis, streamlining this labor-intensive process.
