CAMPBELL, CA – Agile Access Control, Inc. has released a fleet case study revealing a 1300-percent return on investment (ROI) from the FleetCommander application. The return was the result in large part to a 21 percent reduction in the number of vehicles and a cost savings due to elimination of manual vehicle request processing and data entry tasks.

The GSA Central Motor Pool Services staff at the County of Ventura manages a pool of vehicles that are used by approximately 500 county employees. Since August 2006, the county has used FleetCommander to manage the pool. They have decreased fleet size, streamlined fleet operations, increased customer satisfaction, improved fleet staff morale, and implemented automated fleet policy enforcement.

The County estimates that $35,000 in maintenance and depreciations costs per year are realized solely from the elimination of vehicles. And, the County estimates the savings of staff hours at approximately $17,000 annually. This equates to roughly $9,000 in savings due to streamlined vehicle request processing and $8,000 in savings related to data entry and billing processes.

In addition to providing online vehicle requests, FleetCommander provides the County with an efficient way to assign vehicles and approve those requests. Throughout the vehicle request process, metrics are captured. Those metrics are ultimately used to generate an output file that is automatically error-checked, formatted, and made available for import in to the County’s accounting system. There is no longer a need to do manual data entry after-the-fact to support billing efforts.
