The Government Fleet Management Alliance (GFMA) and the Coalition for Green Fleet Management recognized five fleets at the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) for their completion of the Certified Fleet Management Operation (CFMO) program and CLEANFleet program.
The City of Buckeye, Ariz.; City of Dublin, Ohio; and San Bernardino County, Calif., all renewed their CFMO certifications.
Government Fleet Publisher Eric Bearly presented the awards. Mike DePaulo accepted on behalf of the City of Buckeye, Darryl Syler accepted on behalf of the City of Dublin, and James Nguyen accepted on behalf of San Bernardino County.
The CFMO certification benchmarks fleet practices against private-sector companies with which the public-sector group competes most directly. The certification testing process addresses 20 categories and eight foundation categories to ensure fleet management success and aims to make a fleet operation cost-effective, efficient, competitive, and well-managed. CFMOs need to recertify every two years.
The CLEANFleet certification ensures fleet operations are energy-efficient and environmentally responsible. To earn a Fleet Masters operation certification, fleets must have both certifications.
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District received a CLEANFleet Certification and Charleston County, S.C., also renewed its CFMO certification. Neither fleet was present for the ceremony, but were recognized for their achievements.
