TORRANCE, CA – Fleet managers’ salaries have increased between 2010 and 2011, with 37% of fleet managers reporting an increase in salary during this timeframe, according to results from a survey conducted by Government Fleet. Eighty-two percent of these increases were 3% or less. The average salary in 2011 is $78,187.

The survey, conducted in May, received approximately 325 qualified responses from fleet professionals managing public sector fleets across the nation.

Twelve percent of fleet managers said their salaries decreased from 2010 to 2011, while 51% saw no change. For the 15% of fleet professionals who were required to take furlough days in 2011, the average number of days they were required to take off was 6.6. Still, more than half of fleet professionals said they were satisfied or somewhat satisfied with their pay, with one fleet manager saying, “We all still have our jobs!”
