The 2013 Government Fleet Expo and Conference (GFX) is where public fleet professionals connect. Fleet professionals gather to share their concerns and solutions to daily challenges, discover innovative products targeted to their specific needs, learn about methods that work, and network with peers. GFX attendance is 50% higher this year than at the same time last year.

San Antonio’s famed River Walk is lined with restaurants, hotels, and attractions, and features special events throughout the year.

The conference this year includes keynote speeches by Jim “The Rookie” Morris and Frank Morgan, Contra Costa County, Calif., fleet manager. In addition, 15 educational sessions that cover fleet fundamentals, efficiency, maintenance, and management will be offered and are designed to help fleet professionals excel at their jobs.

“The Government Fleet Expo and Conference has been an educational and motivating event that I look forward to every year. I get valuable professional advice, and I enjoy the warm and welcoming environment this event brings to the fleet professional,” Gary Lentsch, fleet manager of the Eugene Water & Electric Board in Oregon, said of the 2012 GFX. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to network with many diversified, successful fleet managers, and it’s awesome to see them recognized.”

The 2013 conference features the return of the technician track, providing a professional development opportunity for local technicians. Training professionals will teach separate one-day classes on vehicle electrical components and hydraulic systems. Technicians can take one or both classes, attend general sessions, and walk the show floor.

Not only can attendees learn through educational sessions, they can also discuss their fleet issues with peers. The popular “Big Challenges and Bigger Solutions workshop” allows fleet professionals to gather in small groups to brainstorm solutions for the issues they face.

A break from day-to-day duties allows fleet professionals to step back and see the big picture. Find out what’s new and upcoming at this targeted conference designed with the public fleet professional in mind.

GFX will take place June 10-12, 2013 at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio. Visit governmentfleetexpo.com for more information.

Are You Tracking Your Fleet's True Total Cost of Ownership?

Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach.
