The Vermont State Police retired its last Ford Crown Victoria on Nov. 1, part of its move away from sedans and toward SUV patrol cars, Valley News reported.

The agency has been switching to Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUVs since 2012 because the Crown Vics were discontinued, and the all-wheel-drive SUVs are better suited for bad weather. It has about 200 SUV cruisers in use and plans to transition the rest of its small sedan fleet to SUVs.
