The Indiana State Police (ISP) has issued patrol vehicles to the 20 members of the 87th Recruit Academy, marking their transition into full service. During the event, ISP also introduced a new patrol vehicle design that will be phased in across the fleet. The newly assigned Dodge Durangos are the first to feature the updated look.
New Troopers and Updated Fleet Enter Service
Governor Mike Braun said the new troopers “carry forward a proud tradition of protecting Hoosiers,” noting that the updated patrol vehicles help mark the start of the next chapter for the agency.
Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott said the revised color scheme honors the agency’s history while signaling future direction. “We are excited to see these new Troopers and vehicles begin service in communities throughout Indiana,” he said.
Stellantis, the manufacturer of the Durango Pursuit, has a long-standing partnership with ISP. Ryan Austin, law enforcement program manager at Stellantis, said the vehicles are designed with officer safety and durability as priorities to support daily patrol work.
