The Union County Sheriff's Office in Monroe, N.C. has added four low-profile patrol cars featuring what it calls "ghost graphics." The agency is adding two white cars with white graphics and two black cars with black graphics, which will be visible at night but blend into the vehicle during the daytime.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office told WCNC that the Sheriff's Office hopes this helps deputies better enforce traffic laws during the daytime, especially on busy highways where drivers will usually slow down once they see a patrol car. The vehicles were purchased using the agency's regular replacement funds.
