President Donald Trump will continue to use the current fleet of Cadillac presidential limousines, as the new generation of limousines is not expected to be delivered until later this year, according to a report from Autoweek.

The Department of Homeland Security first released a request for information in 2013, seeking capability statements and top secret clearances. Those with the proper clearances were permitted to submit designs for an armored limousine.

A prototype of the new limousine first appeared about a year ago, when Jalopnik reported sightings of a camoflagued armored limousine. The vehicle is produced by General Motors, which has built the presidential limousine for the past 30 years.
