Lewis County (Wash.) this week passed an ordinance that allows the Sheriff’s Office to use unmarked vehicles for confidential activities and to conduct traffic control in certain instances, The Chronicle reported.

County commissioners wanted to pass an ordinance clarifying unmarked vehicle use following a lawsuit in a nearby county.

Several citizens spoke out against the ordinance due to opposition to law enforcement pulling drivers over in unmarked vehicles.
