Lenco Industries, Inc. introduces its new BearCat EOD “BombCat” armored response vehicle for explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) and improvised explosive device disposal (IEDD) first responders.

Lenco offers an optional, roof-mounted 24X zoom camera, with high-intensity scene lighting, that a user can raise up to 10 feet for enhanced visibility. A thermal image camera, CBRNE equipment, and communications sensors are also available to meet operator needs, according to the company.

The vehicle can accommodate a large tactical robot by using a fold-down ramp at the curb side door or be deployed from a hydraulically controlled platform at the front of the vehicle, according to the company. The BombCat has a spool storage reel to manage a robot’s fiber-optic cable while technicians monitor its progress via computer monitors inside the vehicle. The company said secure radio signals can be used to transit a robot’s audio and video feeds.

All Lenco armored trucks are built with Mil-Spec steel armor plate and vehicle ceilings and floors provided blast and fragmentation protection, according to the manufacturer. The company added that BombCat models are built on heavy-duty commercial truck platforms.
