Doosan has introduced three new 7-series wheel excavators, designing them for demanding tasks. The company describes the excavators — the DX140W-7, DX190W-7 and DX210W-7 — as capable of powerful digging and maneuverability when working on bridges and roadways or in urban areas.

Doosan calls them the “dash 7” excavators, replacing the “dash 5” models in the Doosan excavator lineup.

Randy Shearin, government account manager for Doosan Infracore North America, says the company released the larger excavators to boost production in tight areas near structures and buildings, along with road and bridge work areas.

The excavators’ attachment management system allows operators to run up to 10 different hydraulic attachments, with the ability to specify their own gallons-per-minute flow for each attachment.

“And that could be hugely beneficial to the government sector, because you have one machine doing multiple jobs, saving them money and utilizing their resources more,” Shearin says.

The redesigned wheel excavators provide digging force to move and lift more material with each cycle. A one-touch power boost feature can help amplify hydraulic power for digging in tough material.

All-Around View Monitoring

Government operators can also see their surroundings better in the new machines. The optional 360-degree all-around view monitoring (AVM) camera system displays a full view of the machine’s surroundings.

That means operators could feel more confident when positioning the machine in tight work areas. Those operating the machine can experience five visual perspectives from the separate AVM monitor: top view, rear view, top plus right view, rear plus corner view and 3D view.

Users can also link the AVM camera system with optional ultrasonic detection sensors, providing them with a greater level of awareness of objects behind the machine.
