Cole County, Missouri, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has taken delivery of the first of three new Osage Industries Super Warrior Type I ambulances.

Designed for Paramedic Safety

The apparatus was designed with an emphasis on safety and increasing capabilities. The patient care module features mobility seats that are engineered to allow personnel to deliver patient care while seated and secured in seatbelts. The mobility seats have been shown to be much safer during crash testing than traditional bench seating found in most ambulances, according to a post on the Cole County EMS Facebook page.

The commercial truck chassis features automatic 4-wheel drive and a longer wheelbase for increased ride comfort. A dedicated HVAC unit for the patient care compartment will ensure adequate heating and cooling during summer and winter temperatures, while the new viral filtration system will utilize UV light to kill any infectious organisms being circulated in the HVAC system.
