The Orange Beach Police Department will soon be adding 12 new patrol vehicles — Chevrolet Tahoes — to its fleet.

The Orange Beach City Council approved the purchase for the new vehicles during a meeting on Sept. 7.

Councilman Jeff Boyd said the vehicles will replace several cars that were damaged during a hailstorm in April. The vehicles will also sport a new look — different from the city’s current patrol vehicles — with orange and blue decals.

The total cost for the 12 Tahoes is $425,763, plus a $6,000 delivery fee.
