Sheriff L.C. Knight of the Dorchester County, S.C., Sheriff's Office has decided to acquire 15 new Ford Police Interceptor Hybrid utility vehicles, which are currently being equipped with electronics and graphics. DCSO will be the first agency in the region to begin switching over to hybrid vehicles for patrol duties, according to its official Facebook page. Ford Motor Company said agencies should see a fuel savings on each Interceptor of between $3,000 and $6,000 each year.
