Gasoline Theft From Fleet Vehicles on Rise

DECATUR, IL – Police in Decatur, Ill., report gasoline thefts are on the rise and sometimes involve hundreds of dollars worth of fuel, according to the Herald & Review. Thieves — who are targeting fleet vehicles, large vans, or trucks — cut the filler hose to the gas tank and siphon out the fuel, bypassing any locking gas line caps. Not only is the gasoline lost, but the vehicles are damaged as well.

City of Oakland Acquires New Clean-Air Vehicles

OAKLAND, CA – The city of Oakland has added two more clean-air vehicles to its fleet as part of a continuing effort to reduce pollution in the city, according to Bay City News Wire. A grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District allowed the city's Public Works Agency to replace two of its diesel-powered units with clean-burning compressed natural gas vehicles.
