Wash. City Stocks Up on PI Sedans
The City of Monroe, Wash., is buying replacement vehicles a year ahead of schedule in order to secure the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan before it is discontinued.

The City of Monroe, Washington, is buying its next round of police vehicles a year ahead of its replacement schedule in order to meet the order cutoffs for Ford’s discontinued Police Interceptor Sedan.
According to city documents, eight of the Monroe Police Department’s patrol vehicles are scheduled to be replaced in 2019. But Ford’s recent decision to discontinue its PI Sedan left the city in a dilemma. It could either stock up now, a year ahead of schedule, in order to make the order cutoff at the end of September, or it could wait until July 2019 when orders opened up for the 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid.
