TULARE, CA - Tulare County Fleet Services has moved out of the garage it's occupied since the 1960s and into a larger, newly built facility, according to the Visalia Times-Delta.
The new building is located at the county's Central Road Yard south of Visalia and is 10,000 square feet, nearly twice the size of the previous 5,800-plus-square-foot facility. The facility has six repair bays that each can accommodate two vehicles and openings on both sides, in addition to seven lifts.
The extra bay space is expected to allow for better service to county departments, providing enough bays for all technicians to work and for them to do simple jobs more quickly.
Richard Lamb, the county's fleet services superintendent, estimated the motor pool performs about 2,500 services a year, reported the Times-Delta.
