Darryl Syler, CPFP, has been named the fleet services division chief for the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Syler came on board in January and has been tasked with bringing the city’s fleet under one roof, right-sizing the fleet, and getting the city’s sustainability plan going.

Syler joins Alexandria after two years at the State of Ohio where he and staff worked to reduce the state fleet by 5%, and eight years at the City of Dublin, Ohio, where he led the fleet to be the No. 1 Small Fleet in the country in the Leading Fleets award two years in a row. Syler brings over 42 years of knowledge to Alexandria and was inducted into the Public Fleet Hall of Fame in 2021.

“We have a great staff of leaders and technicians here who are dedicated to providing the best possible service on all of the vehicles and equipment. They go the extra mile in taking care of our customers,” Syler said.
