State of Missouri Showcases Alt-Fuel Vehicles
ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) started a caravan of vehicles offering higher fuel economy and lower emissions, according to the Columbia Missourian.
ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) started a caravan of vehicles offering higher fuel economy and lower emissions, according to the Columbia Missourian. The caravan traveled from St. Louis to Kansas City, Mo. The caravan consisted of 11 cars, ranging from a Ford Escape hybrid SUV to a Jeep Liberty that runs on biodiesel. Mike Bernich, fleet manager for Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, drove a hybrid Chevy Silverado. Bernich's fleet has several vehicles that run on natural gas. David Harrison, a DNR employee, drove a Ford F-150 designed to run on normal gasoline or propane. Bernard Thompson, a co-worker of Harrison's drove an ethanol-powered car.
