Seven City Workers Arrested and Accused of Altering Vehicle Inspection
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Seven employees working at the Fleet Services Center in East Austin, Texas, have been arrested and accused of altering inspection vehicle stickers.
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Seven employees working at the Fleet Services Center in East Austin, Texas, have been arrested and accused of altering inspection vehicle stickers. Four face second-degree felony charges while three face misdemeanor charges, according to the Web site http://www.KXAN.com.
A supervisor tipped off the department of public safety after noticing earlier this week that some of the stickers had been tampered with.
“What we believe was occurring, that the old inspection sticker was not being disposed of, but in turn being altered and then being taped onto a personal vehicle,” said city spokesman Gene Acuna, as quoted by www.KXAN.com.
The department of public safety said this may have been going on for some time.
